Terms of Service

Effective date: April 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of nohow.ai software and services. By purchasing a license, you agree to these terms.

1. License

nohow.ai grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to deploy and use the software within a single AWS account. Each license is tied to one deployment. Additional deployments require additional licenses.

All documents, conversations, and data processed by the software remain in your AWS account and under your sole control. nohow.ai has no access to your data. You are responsible for the content you upload and for complying with applicable data protection laws.

5. AWS Costs

The nohow.ai license fee covers the software only. AWS infrastructure costs (compute, storage, AI inference, data transfer) are billed directly by AWS to your account. Typical costs range from $5/month for light use up to $50/month for active traffic, scaling with how many queries your bot answers. You can set monthly usage caps via the admin console to control costs, and view your live AWS bill from the License tab in the admin console.

6. Payment

License fees are one-time payments. Prices are listed on our website and are subject to change for new purchases. Your license is perpetual once purchased — no recurring fees for the software itself.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card information. Receipts are issued automatically by Stripe to the email you provide at checkout.

Taxes. Listed prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. VAT, sales tax, and equivalent indirect taxes are calculated by Stripe at checkout based on your billing location and added to the order total where required by law.

Refunds. License fees are refundable in full within 14 days of purchase if no production deployment of the software has been activated under the license (i.e., the license token has not yet validated against a customer-deployed CloudFormation stack). After 14 days, or once the license has been used to activate any deployment, all sales are final. To request a refund within this window, email [email protected] from the address used at checkout.

Auto-revocation on refund. When a refund is processed (via Stripe or by us manually) the license is automatically marked revoked at our central license API. Your deployed bot's in-stack license check picks this up on its next 12-hour refresh and stops returning paid features. The CloudFormation stack itself remains in your AWS account — you can delete it yourself at any time. We may also revoke a license without refund in cases of terms violation or chargeback dispute lost to us.

7. Support

Lite and Starter tiers include community email support. Pro tier includes priority email support. Max tier includes a dedicated onboarding call and priority support. Custom à-la-carte plans inherit the support level of the highest equivalent bundle. All support is provided via email at [email protected].

8. Warranty Disclaimer

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, as the software runs on your AWS infrastructure and depends on AWS service availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

nohow.ai's total liability is limited to the license fee you paid. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or business interruption.

9a. À-la-carte features & downgrades

You may purchase individual features outside of the bundle tiers — see build a bundle. À-la-carte features are one-time perpetual purchases, just like bundles. There is no monthly fee and no auto-renewal.

Because every license is perpetual, there is no "downgrade" billing flow: you cannot reduce a feature you've bought to a lower price tier. Your options instead are:

Bundles upgrade in-place per Section 10. Bundles cannot be downgraded for the same reason: you've already paid for and now own the higher-tier features.

10. Tier Upgrades

To upgrade from one tier to another, you purchase the higher tier license and we add the additional features to your existing license — no redeployment is required. The new features become available within 12 hours of purchase, or immediately if you click "Refresh now" on the License tab in your admin console. You pay the difference between your current tier and the new tier; you do not pay the full price of the new tier.

11. Termination

Your license is perpetual. However, we may terminate it if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the software from your AWS account.

11a. Data deletion (GDPR right to erasure)

You can request complete deletion of every record we hold about your license at any time by emailing [email protected] from the address used at checkout. Within 7 business days we erase: your license row in our central license database, every telemetry event tied to your license, and every record in our Cloudflare KV namespace (license issuance, deploy callbacks, session lookups). Your CloudFormation stack and the data inside it remain in your own AWS account — only you can delete those, by deleting the stack from CloudFormation. We surface this as a curl-callable endpoint internally; we run it manually rather than exposing it directly so we can authenticate you first.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Changes apply to new purchases only. Your existing license remains governed by the terms in effect at the time of purchase.
